LAMDA
Act Too offers professional actor training through LAMDA - London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art, intensive training programs with nationally recognised qualifications. We develop our actors by using a range of performance techniques, improvisation, character development and script analysis. We explore acting methods for stage and screen. Our syllabus includes classical and contemporary delivery. Posture, voice, and presentation skills workshops.
Courses include practical exercises and portfolio building. We prepare our learners for external examinations in acting technique, through LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art). Our courses lead to nationally recognised qualifications, including UCAS points. Extra UCAS points add value to university and drama school applications. Our courses can also help with audition preparation, selection, and delivery. Learning for fun or for professional development, Act Too training is accessible and immersive. Actors of all ages are invited to enrol.
Class Duration
Group classes are 120 minutes (two hours) with a fifteen-minute break. One to one classes and tutorials can vary in length from 30 to 60 minutes. We also provide day workshops and master classes that can be longer. Learners will be advised of any class duration variances in advance.
Dress Code
We request our trainees attend classes in comfortable clothing, ideally rehearsal blacks. Workshops can be physical, so we advise soft footwear or bare foot. Act Too can provide branded rehearsal livery at an extra cost. Branded clothing is optional with no expectation to purchase.
Class Size
We are not restricted by class size; however we insist on having one facilitator for every five trainees (a one to five ratio). The average class size is ten to fifteen mixed ability trainees.
Instructor Qualifications
Our instructors are qualified teachers and industry professionals. They have a wealth of experience working in drama, theatre, and performance creation. The team have worked in film and television production and life performance both here in the UK and in the United States. As well as being teachers, trainers, and performance coaches, they are qualified assessors and author performance courses
