What is LAMDA at Act Too?

LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) is one of the UK's leading drama schools, and Act Too is proud to offer accredited LAMDA classes in Melton Mowbray. Our courses are specially designed to build essential life skills including clear communication, self-confidence, and teamwork, all through engaging activities in drama, literature, and music. Participants in our classes will improve their self-expression, enhance memory skills, and most importantly, have fun!

Classes at Act Too are delivered by specialist LAMDA-qualified teachers who provide personalized guidance, helping each student choose the appropriate grade and prepare thoroughly. Classes involve a mix of group activities, individual coaching, and recommended home practice.

LAMDA exams contribute towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award, can earn UCAS points, and each successful candidate receives a certificate upon passing an exam.

At Act Too, our LAMDA classes are more than just exam preparation. They foster creativity, teaching essential performance skills through scripts, texts, and poetry.

Typically, students take one LAMDA graded exam each year, though new students can join at any time.

Exams take place at the LAMDA headquarters in Hammersmith, London, involving the performance of one set piece and one chosen script, followed by questions relating to their performance. Please note there is a small additional fee per exam to cover examination costs.
